Els, who has been aware for the past two years that she has cancer, invites her family to spend a long weekend together in a Swiss chalet. This will be the last time that the entire clan can spend some time together. Not everyone is enthusiastic at the prospect or the reality. Based on the play of the same name, the teleplay has been adapted by Maria Goos and directed by Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen.

BELLA BETTIEN
Broadcast: Wednesday, April 17th (2002) on Nederland 1.
Bettien Martens made her name in the eighties by working as an intermediary between the drug lords of Columbia and organized crime on an international scale. The scenario, collaboration between Simon de Waal, Tomas Ross and director Hans Pos, is based on the book by Frank Bovenkerk who interviewed Martens during her incarceration in Italy.

PARAMARIBO PAPERS
Broadcast: Saturday, April 20th (2002) on Nederland 3.
In the early nineteen-eighties, secret agent Robert Lipmann went to Suriname, at the request of the Dutch government, to investigate the sudden disappearance of Dutch journalist Kevin Poelgeest. The lawyer Elvira Poelgeest, who is both the sister of the missing newsman and mistress of Commander Raymond Markelo, assists him in his work. Ger Poppelaars directs this tragic story, based upon actual events.

POLONAISE
Broadcast: Wednesday, April 24th (2002) on Nederland 1.
A varied mixture of people trapped together in a traffic gridlock, are confronted by each other as well as with their own realities. No one escapes. A film about making choices and passing time: in a traffic jam, in life, and in love.

Directed by Nicole van Kilsdonk, this film is the last project of renowned Dutch film producer René Scholten, who unfortunately died in October last year.

TUSSENLAND (NO MAN'S LAND)
Broadcast: Saturday, April 27th (2002) on Nederland 3.
A young refugee from the Soedan searching for a safe place in Holland and an 80-year-old veteran disillusioned with life manage to develop a bond of friendship. Telefilm written by Helena van der Meulen and directed by Eugenie Jansen

ACHTTIEN (EIGHTEEN)
Broadcast: Wednesday, May 1st (2002) on Nederland 1.
The eighteen-year-old Koen battles between the desire for independence and his feelings of love as he makes an attempt to finally break the cord with his mother. An anarchistic young girl named Colet is more than ready to help him with his struggle.

The scenario by Maarten Lebens is directed by Jelle van Doornik and features the talented Kitty Courbois.
