This unfinished film about aids by Swedish director Roy Andersson was halted
during shooting by the board that financed it. Reportedly the material was too
heavy handed for an audience in the 80's. Andersson began producing his own
films in 1975 in order to achieve the freedom he was denied with other
production companies. The scene in the sunken bath, attended by soldiers in
uniform, where a naked patient is forced to share the waters with huge chunks
of ice has a chilling edge to it. A curious piece, at least.
