Stargate

An underdeveloped Rambo with a death wish (brought on by the accidental death of his son) joins forces with a clumsy offshoot of the Indiana Jones type to travel through an Egyptian stargate to the unexplored side of the universe where they find extras from the Ten Commandments slaving away for a demented E.T.

Some nice effects. Good performance by Viveca Lindfors despite a weak script. James Spader and Kurt Russell don't come off as well. Maybe because their on-screen time was longer. Jaye Davidson, portraying Ra (the human alien), looks exceptionally regal with his royal gait and his head held high. And, my, how he flashes the whites of his eyes.
