Curse of the Demon (Night of the Demon)
Jacques Tourner does a wonderful job with this tale from the pen
of M.R. James.
The producer decided to add a "visible" creature to the film before release,
most likely in an attempt to make it more comprehensible (from his
viewpoint) to the audience and (in his mind) increase the box-office
potential.
This resulted in disappointment from Tourneur, actor Dana Andrews, and others who
believed that the strength of this psychological thriller was in
large degree dependant upon the unseen manifestation. Enjoyable
no matter how you look at it. Music by Clifton Parker.
