The heart is a lonely hunter
Sondra Locke makes her screen debut to take us through the heart-
rending tale of Carson McCuller's memorable character, the deaf
mute Mr. Singer (Alan Arkin). Although the screen version is
considerably weaker than the novel, the performance of Arkin
makes it worthwhile watching, and a tear will probably cross your
eye at the end.
