The night of the hunter
An interesting combination makes a piece of history. Charles
Laughton directs an amazing performance out of Robert Mitchum
who, as a "preacher" who will leave no stone unturned in his
search for the hidden cash, is striking in his portrayal of evil.
Lillian Gish proves that old ladies are a force to be reckoned
with; of course, she had already proved many years earlier that
young ladies are too (remember the ice floes in the Griffith
years?).
