Nosferatu
A little bit of cheating here. We'll include both versions under
"Emeralds" and manage to extend our list a little. Murnau, the
magic master of the screen, introduced the first bloodthirsty
cine-addicts to a taste of the old necromantic thrill. Herzog
followed up in an "homage" to his German forerunner by setting
the rats loose in Delft where we could be thrilled at the
dastardly demise of Bruno Ganz and Isabelle Adjani. Using the
talents of Klaus Kinski he managed to keep the film Schreck-lik!
(Sorry, pun intended.)
