Rumble Fish

Just goes to show you how distributors can ruin the chance of success. This film is beautifully shot in black and white (except, of course, for the fish) using some of the most expressive and expressionistic contrast since days of yore. The shadows, the smoke, the out-of-body experience.

Yeah! Go for it, Mickey. Go for it, Mat. Go for it, Francis. Great score by ex-Police Stewart Copeland and great songs by Stan Ridgway. A cult classic and it should've been a box-office smash on its first release.
