Joris roams around the streets of Brussels, dwelling in his own self pity about losing his first love. He decides to take a hotel room, rather than staying at home, in order to focus with more melancholically on his situation. Like a bump on a log, with his arms hanging by his sides, he lethargically moves from place to place as circumstance carries him. Along the way he meets a number of characters, some more intriguing than others. Despite some interesting acting from the main character, his despondent love interest and a fascinating, bitchy old ex-doctor's wife, this film will not leave you "au bout de soufflé."
